Hello!
My name is Jenna, and I’ve always had a deep connection with young children. Many know me as the “baby whisperer” for my natural ability to soothe, care for, and engage little ones.
I grew up in Burlington, Wisconsin, surrounded by a big family—right in the middle of four brothers, later joined by another younger sister and another baby brother. From an early age, I found joy in looking after the younger children in my family and at gatherings, which sparked my lifelong passion for caregiving.
I began working in the food service industry at age 16 and continued until the COVID-19 pandemic. Though I once considered a career in nursing, I realized my strengths lay elsewhere. I then joined my family’s business manufacturing fiberglass airplane parts, where I gained valuable experience, a strong work ethic, and an eye for detail—especially while working closely with my brothers.
In 2014, I moved to Milwaukee to pursue an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education at Milwaukee Area Technical College. During that time, I became a mother to my daughter, Hadley Rae. I found myself applying what I was learning in real time, particularly the philosophies of Emmi Pikler and Maria Montessori, which focus on nurturing independent, curious, and confident learners. In 2017, I welcomed my second daughter, Sage Noa.
After five years of balancing motherhood and education, I proudly graduated with honors in the winter of 2019. Since 2018, I’ve worked professionally in childcare, where I’ve deepened my understanding of best practices, NAEYC standards, and Department of Children and Families regulations for group care.
At Tots 2U Childcare, I offer a warm, home-based setting designed to provide personalized, high-quality care. I focus on maintaining clean and safe sleep spaces, serving nutritious meals, and providing developmentally appropriate equipment and activities—all within a nurturing, small-group environment.
A child-led, play-based curriculum is a developmentally appropriate approach to early childhood education. It values the importance of child-initiated play and exploration as key drivers of learning and development.
In a home daycare setting, this type of curriculum creates a nurturing and supportive environment where children are encouraged to explore, discover, and grow at their own pace—making learning both natural and enjoyable.
